Green Print / Roheline TrĂ¼kis
Green Print (“Roheline Trükis”) is the name of an environmentally friendly printing service which was developed in 2003 by AS Triip and the Estonian Fund for Nature. Roheline Trükis/ Green Print is also a trademark which was registered in 2004 and can only be used on the print materials produced by Ecoprint. Green Print materials (“Roheline Trükis”) are produced by the environmentally friendly printing house known as Ecoprint.
Green Print (“Roheline Trükis”) materials are printed using:
100 % natural printing inks
Printing inks contain several chemical compounds which are made of oil. Oil is a non-renewable natural resource and its processed residual products are not biodegradable; when these are burned, the result is substances that are harmful to the environment. Manufacturers are increasingly using natural oils and resins for making printing inks. Ecoprint uses printing inks which are produced by SC World Series and which contain rapeseed oil and soy-bean oil and use pine resin as the binder; these inks are also odourless. Natural printing can be used to print on any type of paper (coated paper, uncoated paper, and recycled paper).
Environmentally friendly printing paper
Recycled paper
FSC-certified paper
Other printing paper, supplied by Papyrus and MAP, who guarantee that they purchase their paper from paper mills which have implemented an environmental management system.
Environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technological solutions
The Green Energy participation system and the production of alternative energy using solar panels and wind turbines
We have a damping system which is based on rainwater collected on the roof.
A computer-to-plate technology for the pre-press process
Printing presses with equipment for water-based varnishes and an infra-red dryer
The quality of products which are used to print onto recycled paper is equal to products which are used to print on regular paper, because Ecoprint uses pre-press processes and print press settings which are specifically adjusted for the particular type of paper. Also, the process of design and image processing must take into account the tone of the recycled paper and other recommendations by the paper manufacturer and the printing house. FSC-labelled print materials
FSC is the abbreviation of the name of the Forest Stewardship Council. The FSC label on paper or any other product means that the product has been made using wood from forests which are managed in accordance with the principles of sustainable forestry – this means that any logging there has not been illegal, the forest’s ecosystem has not been damaged by the logging, and no illegal or child labour has been used in the process. The FSC Chain-of-Custody certificate concerns the entire wood supply chain and wood processing, from the stump in the forest to the end-product.
Only companies with an appropriate certificate can use the FSC logo and/or trademark to label their products. The FSC has established individual requirements for each industry.
